A80j burn in2/25/2024 Over all for most, burnin is not going to be as common these days, but yes can happen and extended warranty coverage is some thing to consider. but over all black bars should not every be an issue for most users. ![]() You could see some burn in from black bars over "very" long time, if usage was just letterbox for all content all the time, due to OLED being organic matter, the do degrade over time, so if you have 5k hours of constant usage with letterbox only, you may see an issue. You also have the option for pixel shift to help reduce, but you will notice from time to time the black board around all 4 side shrink and increase as part of the method. but that maybe rare, as the usage would have to be excessive for hours upon hours without the tv being turned off and the hud still running. My PS4 looked great on my A8H, but better safe than sorry with the priciest TV I'd ever purchased.įor any recent releases of OLED Burn in is really only an issues with very long term static images, so you could have some burn in with gaming over time, if the hud has similar display every time for long periods. I personally choose not to game on mine just to limit the usage overall, but that wasn't because I saw any burn in or anything worrying. Off = emitting no color = nothing to burn in. Our stance remains the same, we don't expect most people who watch varied content without static areas to experience burn-in issues with an OLED TV.Īnd someone correct me if I'm wrong, but black bars at the top or sides WILL NOT burn in because black means the pixel is off. ![]() Uniformity issues have developed on the TVs displaying Football and FIFA 18, and are starting to develop on the TV displaying Live NBC. The TVs have now been running for over 9000 hours (around 5 years at 5 hours every day). Again, that's one static image for thousands of hours, but that's one resource I looked at prior to my OLED purchase. That's roughly 5 hours a day for 5 years, which is far more than I would ever use it, and you can see the results. I always go back to this RTINGS test, where they ran the OLED sets for around 5,000 hours. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.
